My name is Scott Nelson. I am a 57 year old husband and father of four children. My family and I live in a growing metropolitan area approximately 90 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and a Master of Arts in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

I worked in the heavy equipment industry, in inventory control and parts sales, for nine years between my graduation from A&M and and the beginning of seminary. Since graduation from Southwestern in 1985 I have been involved in vocational and bi-vocational ministry: vocationally, as a local church staff minister of missions ( “church starter strategist” ), pastor and a Baptist association missions coordinator; bi-vocationally, as a church planter in Montana and home-based ministry to international students enrolled at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

My family and I have been involved in the home-based ministry to and with international students enrolled at Texas A&M University since 1997. Our ministry has been primarily with Mainland Chinese and South Korean PhD and post-doctoral students and visiting scholars and researchers. The ministry has also reached students from India, Mexico, and Eritrea.

The ministry, originally called International Bible Fellowship, is now called Ta Ethne Network. Ta Ethne Network is committed to expanding the Kingdom of God at Texas A&M University and beyond through the multiplication of disciples of Christ, ministry leadership development and the start and multiplication Authentic Faith Communities (organic churches) that will penetrate and saturate campuses, communities and nations for Christ.

So, welcome to my blog and my thoughts. Your prayers, thoughts and comments are welcome.
